N. LITTLEFIELD RECEIVES COMMISSION AS P. M.

Will Not Take the Office Until November First in Order to Avoid Making Two Reports. * " N. Littlefield received his commission as postmaster on Friday evening. The appointment was made early in the month but for some reason there was a delay in sending the commission. Mr. Lib .tlefleld gave a surety bond for $5,000 for the faithful performance of his duties a $2,000 increase of the bond required) of the former postmaster, the growing business of the office accounting for the increased bond. After a conference with Postmaster Murray Mr. Littlefield will not take the office until November Ist. If he should take the office now two duties, a $2,00t) increase of the bond Mr. Murray holding the office until the regular report period only one report will be necessary, and will be made by the retiring officer. Mr. Littlefield will spend the intervening week in familiarizing himself with the duties of the office by working there.
