Surprisingly successful results have been attained in making use of horizontal antenna for the purpose of wireless telegraphy. One thousand feet of wire stretched across the ground at a height of three feet was found to equal an antenna forty feet in height, and messages were very satisfactorily received from several stations located in various directions.
