Jasper County Stockmen Bought Cattle in West.
R. A. Parkison was in Kansas last week and purchased 100 head of cattle of his cousin, Wallace Parkison, of Bucklin. and will feed them here this winter. After his return other feeders either ordered from Kansas City or the west while still others ihade trips there for the purpose of purchase. C. P. Moody and E. J. Randle each bought a car load at Kansas City, Granville Mood# bought somA at Kansas City and four loads at Kingman. Firman Thompson and Mallje Clark also went to the west, expecting to visit Bucklin with a view to buying several loads. The pasture and feed shortage in the west makes winter feeding there impossible this year. The cattle are said to be of a superior kind to those native here.
Misses Katie Ropp and Cora Herrod, of north of town, went to WheatfleW today for a week’s visit with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ropp. Thorsten Otterberg and wife will begin housekeeping the latter part of this month in the house on West Clark street now occupied by Dick Hartman. Mrs. Otterberg is remaining with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alf Jacks, at Lee, until they can get possession of the house.
