Puff Pudding.

One egg, two tablespoons butter, one-half cup sweet milk, one cup flour, one teaspoon cream of tartar, one-half teaspoon soda, two tablespoons sugar, one-half cup chopped raisins. Beat the egg and cream with the sugar and butter, add the milk mid stir till dissolve-). Sift the flour with the soda and cream of tartar and beat into liquid mlxtute. Put the raisins in your sieve and add a few spoonfuls of flour to them; shake until the flour is all out, then turn them into the pudding and stir thoroughly. Steam for an hour and serve warm with liquid pudding sauce; any you prefer.
