Frances W. Powers et al. Petition for ditdh. Auditor certified assessriient sheet showing assessments in the sum of $1,846.95, and was directed to issu4 bonds providing for ten annual payments and drawing 5 per cent interest. . . Fred 8. Tyler, petition for ditch. Ditch established. Devere Yeoman appointed superintendent of construction. E. M. Laßue allowed attorney fee of $15.00. The auditor was directed to advertise for bridges in Kankakee, Marion, Barkley, Union and Wheatfield townships. Charles E. Sage et al. Petition for stone road improvement. Petition dismissed at cost of petitioners. '
Royal L. Bussell *et al. Petition for stone road improvement. Report of viewers examined and approved. Highway orderedi vacated and auditor directed to notify trustee of Marlon township. Reuben C. Yeoman, et al. Petition for stone road improvement. Superintendent presents report showing apportionment of assessments and requests that bonds be issued for same. ~ Report approved and auditor directed to prepare an assessment sheet or gravel road duplicate and make his report oi same at the first day of August term. Everett Halstead et al. Petition for stone road. Same proceedings as in the above. Thomas "F. Maloney et al. Petition for stone road improvement. Contract awarded to Charles Stalbaum for the sum of $5,885. Bond approved and accepted. Jesse Collins appointed superintendent of construction, who is directed to give bond. The board finds the total cost of the improvement to be $6,500, and the auditor is directed to issue bonds for that amount in 20 equal series of $325 each, interest payable semi-annual-ly, with interest at 4 1 /* per cent. Chas. Schatzley et al. Petition for ditch. 10th day of October fixed as the day on or before which assessments may be paid in cash and relieve the land of the lien of bonds. George W. Kennedy et al. Petition for drain. Cause docketed and continued for objections. The county officers reported fees collected for the quarter as follows: clerk $103.80; auditor $13.10; recorder $116.50; reports examined and approved. The county board of .finance reported Interest collected for June as follows: First National Bank, $118.25; Trust A Savings Bank, $50.96; State Baryk of Remington, $47.64; State Bank of Rensselaer, $7361; Bank of Wheatfleld, $22.09. Creation of a commission of three to pass upon all applications for office and to recomfnend for appointment all persons napied to non-crfvil service offices Is provided for in a bill introduced by Senator Works, of California. Each commissioner is td receive $3,000 annually and their authority Is to be absoRobert Williams, of Evansville, tried to separate his bulldog and another dog that were fighting.
