Sponge Drops.

Beat one whole egg and a yolk until light, gradually beat in three-quar-ters cup sugar, a grating of lemon rind and one-quarter cup cold water;- then beat in three-quarters cup flour sifted again with one-quarter teaspoon soda and a scant level teaspoon of cream of tartar. Drop on a buttered paper and bake in a quick oven. Sift your flour once before measuring and again with soda and cream of tartar.
