Steamed Chocolate Pudding.

One-half cup sugar, one teaspoon butter, one egg, one-half citp milk, one cup flour, one square chocolate melted, one-half teaspoon cream tartar, one-quarter teaspoon soda. Put in pudding boiler or tin pail. Steam one hour. Sauce. —Boil three-quarters of a pint of milk, one egg, one level teaspoon flour, three-eights cup sugar. Mix and stir in the boiled milk and boil until as thick as thick cream. Flavor with vanilla.
