Andrews, of Clinton, lowa, -who had the contract for the decorations on the interior of the court house some sixteen years ago, was here today to confer with the eoupty commissioners. The decorations have held splendidly except where damaged by leaks in the roof. The leaks were repaired last y.?ar and now the commissioner.*' are figuring ,n>me on having the interior redecorated and asked Mr. Andrews here to make an estimate of the cost. J. Lester Haberkorn, of Chattsworth, 111., who has sang in Rensselaer several times, usually at the Princess Theatre, was here from Saturday until today visiting L. A. Harmon and other friends. He spent some eight months the past year as the soloist wtih a ten-piece orchestra that traveled through ten northwestern states and four provinces In Canada. He is taking a summer rest now and will probably not return to work before the first of August. His popularity as a singer with Rensselaer audiences has never been approached by any other singers. The Boyer Jesse James Show played here Tuesday night to standing room only The company carries the beet and neatest outfit ever epen here. Fine band. Lots of vaudeville. A good company of ladlee and gentlemen and while here they made numerous, friends.— Palatka, Fla, Herald. Dec. & Mrs. Kate R. Watson and daughter, Miss Myra, left this morning for a six weeks’ or a two months’ trip to the northwest, with Tacoma Wash., as their objective point. They will be joined at St. Paul, Minn, by Mrs. Albert L. Cook, of Tacoma, who visited Mrs. Watson here last week, and who also spent some time with relatives at Pontiac, 111. They will go from St Paul over the Canadian Pacific railroad, stopping in the Canadian Naeouver and then by boat to Seattle, tlonal Park, going thence to Van-, and then to Tacoma to spend about three weeks with Mrs. Cook. The return trip will be made by the Rio Grande and Burlington routes.
