New York’s New Postoffice.

New York’s new $6,000,000 postoffice building, a massive pile of pink granite five stories in height and two blocks long, facing the rear of the Pennsylvania station, is the greatest building of its kind in the world. From the curb to the topmost piece of granite is 101 feet There are 165, r 000 cubic feet of granite, 18,000 tons of steel, 7,000,000 bricks and 200,000 square feet of glass in the building. The main corridor, corresponding in length to the outside colonnade, is a combination of buff marble, white plaster pnd glass, two stories high, ,29 feet wide and 280 feet long.
