The last century was more fertile In female sovereigns than the present In the ’4os three young queens occupied the thrones of England, Spain and Portugal—Victoria, Isabella and Marla de Gloria. Their respective consorts were Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg, the Infant Francois D‘ Assise and Prince Ferdinand, another Saxe-Co-burg.
