VERDICT OF $600 GIVEN MIDDLECAMP

Asked for $20,000 and Jury Gave Him Verdict of S6O0 r -Gase is to Be Appealed. The case of John Middlecamp, of Knimaii, against Dr. H. J. Laws, of Crown Point, and Dr. I. M. Washbum, of Rensselaer, for alleged malpractice, of which mention has previously been made, was tried at Kentland this week. Middlecamp brought suit in Lake county and asked for $20,000 damages. The defendants asked for a change of venue and the case was sent to Jasper county, and on motion of the plaintiff another change was asked for and the case was sent to Newton county. The jury brought in a verdict of S6OO against the defendants. Dr. Laws states that he will appeal the case to the supreme court. Dr. Washburn some time ago brought suit against Middlecamp for a S2OO jdoctor bill Incurred in treating the case, and ifjfe expected that this case will come up at the next term of the Jasper circuit court.
