ALL SAID SHOW WAS VERY SATISFACTORY

Menagerie Feature Was Small But Acting Was Excellent—Grounds Were Very Muddy. ' The Sparks’ circus gave the very best of sat isf action —Wednesday and all who saw it praised the acting, many saying it was equal in most respects to the larger circuses that have visited here in previous years. There were not many animals and the menagerie was small, which made the parade quite short and somewhat of a disappdintjnent to the large crowd that bad gathered to witness it. The circus was a one-ring affair, and all could witness every act. There was a very large crowd saw the show in the afternoon, the tenMSeing filled, the best attendance said the managers, that they had had since the circus opened a month ago. The evening crowd was estimated at a thousand. The grounds were in very bad condition, the heavy rain of the night before had made the ground very soft and the heavy wagons had cut it up, while the tramping over the ground brought the water to the surface and almost all who saw the show got their feet wet entering or leaving the tent. Some features of the show were difficult to give owing to the mud. The performance was clean and the acts of a high order and a return visit to Rensselaer another year would find our people ready to patronize the show even more liberally.
