Fred Phillips was in Mt. Ayr last Tuesday. Miss Hazel Doty returned to her home at Warsaw Monday. Ed Harris and family visited Ed May’s, at Remington, Sunday. Hiram Ashby purchased a Buick car and Lewis Shriver a Detroit. Lightning killed three horses on the Tom Lamson farm Monday. Miss Mary Johnson visited with Mrs. Ernest Prouty near Surrey last week. Mrs. Dr. Merry went Thursday for a week’s visit with her daughter, Miss Jessie, of Chicago. Mrs. Tom Mitchell returned home Thursday from a three weeks' stay with her grandmother, Mrs. Walsh, of Chicago. A surprise party was given for Jay Makeever on Tuesday night in honor of <hls 27th birthday. A large Crowd was present and a fine time was reported. Ice cream and cake was served.
