Capt. W. I. Chambers’ invention ol a catapult device to launch hydro-aero-planes from warships is characterized by Glenn H. Curtiss as “the most important achievement since wheels were put upon land machines." Ths device, only 30 feet long, enables ths aeroplane to fly immediately aftei leaving the ship’s deck.
