ST. JOE PITCHER GOES TO OTTAWA
Joe Lill, Pitching Sfcaiyto Be With Canadian Team-f-Fine Work _ _ indicates Good Results. I Joe Lill, the pitching star, of St. .Joseph’s College, left this Monday afternoon for Ottawa, Canada, where he will don an Ottawa uniform for a tryout with the Canada 'league.-..That he will make good is certain, for he has not only shown splendid class with St. Joe, but also with semi-professional teams during the summer vacations. Lill made rapid growth as a pitcher and in many of the hard games the college has had he struck out from ten to seventeen batters. He is said to have a good baseball head along with a remarkable arm. Ottawa is regarded as a “farm” for the Chicago Cubs and Lill’s many friends at the college and in Rensselaer expect to see him with a Cub uniform on within a season or two. He will be greatly missed by St. Joe, but there are probably other pitchers there who w.ill be able to help that strong team to win most of the games scheduled.
