Alaska. —The Solomon Derby for dog teams from Nome to Solomon and return, 65 miles over the snow trail, was won by John Johnson, driving a team of Siberian wolves, in 6 hours. ,1% minutes. Oliver Blatchford, driving a team of Missouri bird hounds, was second; Alexander Holmson. driving a mixed team of Mala mutes and Mackensle river huskies, finished third, and Scotty Allan’s team was fourth. Only the four teams started and the gaps between them at the finish was not wltfe.
