FINDS JOHN D.’S GLOVES
Student’s First Impulse Was to Keep Them for Souvenir, But Honesty Is Well Rewarded. Hackensack, N. J. —James Darling, a young student here, found a pair of gloyes belonging to John D. Rockefeller. His first Impulse was to keep them as a souvenir, but his conscience finally whispered that he ought to return the gloves to their owner. He did so by parcel post In return be has just received the following letter: "My Dear James —I want to thank you very much for returning the gloves which you found after they had dropped from our machine. “Your decision to return then! Is typical of the honesty of the average American boy. "I trust that you will always be able to make right decisions where matters of honesty are concerned. “Three cheers for young America Sincerely yours, “JOHN D. ROCKEFELLER" Darling figures that he has been more than amply rewarded, as It is conceded that the letter Is much more valuable as a souvenir than the gloves could possibly have been.
