Refuses to Increase County Auditor’s Pay.

The house Friday, by a vote of 75 to 15, killed the hill providing for an increase in the salaries of county auditors of the state. In many counties, including Jasper, the work of this office has increased to such an extent, that after paying the necessary deputies, the salary of the auditor is not sufficient to pay for his work.
