DEATH OF FORMER RESIDENT IN COLORADO
Mrs. M. E. Bowman-Henkle-Baird Passed Away at Home of Son in Pueblo, On Fob. Mt.lv ____
Mrs. M. E. Bowman-Henkle-Baird, a former resident'of Jasper county and Rensselaer, died at the home of her son, C. S. Bowman, at 1030 Routt avenue, Pueblo, Colo., at 5:25 a. m., Feb. 10th, 1913, after a lingering illness of about three years. 'For the past two years she required constant assistance and for a long time" haiT been unable to leave'a chair or the bed, yet she bore her suffering uncomplainingly and with patience and fortitude awaited the coming of the final summons. She was beloved by all who knew her, as was attested by the many friends who proffered their assistance and by the many beautiful floral offerings. She joined the M. E. church at Rensselaer when only 15 years of age and remained faithful to the end. She was born at Marion, Crawford county, Ohio, April lj, 1843, and removed with her parents to Rensselaer when but five years of age. Two brothers and one sister, T. J. Sayler, of Lamar, Colo.; J. T. Sayler, of Irby, Wash., and Mrs. C. L. Benjamin, of Pomona, Cal., survive. All were until recent years residents of Jasper county. She was married to Henry Bowman in 1861, who was then serving in the civil war. To this union, nine children were born, of whom only one, C. S’. Bowman, of Pueblo, Colo., survives. - She was laid to rest in the beautiful Roselawn cemetery, one mile east of the city limits of Pueblo, the only relatives present being C. S. Bowman and wife, T. J. Sayler and Ada Sayler Hufty and husband. She also has seven grandchildren, J3ko in Enid, Okla, ; nae la Oklahoma .City and four living near Rensselaer,
