A. P. Sample Now a Bank Cashier at Merrillan, Wis. A. P. Sample, formerly of Rensselaer, and for a number of years a telegraph operator, resigned his job at Merrillan, Wis., two months ago, to become the cashier of the state bank of that place. His mother, Mrs. Lucy Sample, lives at Pueblo, Colo.

Estes Duncan, a well known farmer of Cloverdaie, Putnam county, hfis been appointed by Governor Ralston a member of the board of trustees of the southern hospital for the Insane at Evansville. There will be a pie social at the James school house, 8 miles south of Rensselaer, Friday evening, February 7th. Girls please bring pies and boys well-filled purses.
