FIRST ZERO WEATHER ON FEBRUARY 1st

Local Thermometers Showed Temperature to Be One, Two and Three Degrees Below Zero. The first zero weather of the year occurred this Saturday morning, when several local thermometers registered as low as 3 below. Telephone communications - with St Joseph’s college, where the government weather records are kept, were cut off all day, and we were unable to learn hpw the official thermometer stood. Thursday the temperature was 55 above zero and that night a decided fall occurred and the mercury hung welj below the freezing point all day Friday, culminating in a real cold spell last night. ’ The forecast for tonight •- is fair tonight and probably Sunday: continued cold.
