Rensselaer High School Wins From North Judson.
The game with North Judson was played Friday afternoon before a good sized audience, made up mostly of high school students, and was won by Rensselaer 22 to 14. The game was free from any roughness from either side and although rather slow at first, the second half was fast at times. The Rensselaer boys had good team work, but after working the ball up close to the basket were unable to find it Groom and Babcock at guard, had the North Judson forwards covered so well that they were only able to get one basket. Before the game closed Rensselaer sent in four new men. North Judson did not make a change during the game. The local team will have to become better at basket shooting if they expect to make a good showing against the other teams on the schedule. The North Judson boys were a gentlemanly set and their referee was probably the most eonscientlous officer ever seen on the local floor. The curtain-raiser \ between two local teams was fast and furious, but Capt. Manley Price’s team won 20 to 3. Field baskets, Miller 3: Eiglesbach 4; Brusnahan 1; Duvall 1; McVey 2; Kiedrouski 1. Free throws, Miller 4; Akers 2; Kiedrouski 6. Referees, Taylor, first half; Sharp, second half. Scorer Clark. Time of halves, 20 minutes.
