Why He Changed His Mind.
John L. Sullivan met with some amusing incidents while giving boxing lessons. One day a husky young man came to him as a pupil. He took his boxing lesson and went home somewhat the worse for wear. When he came for his second lesson he said: “Mr. Sullivan, it was my idea to learn enough about boxing from you to give a certain young gentleman a good licking. I’ve had it in for him a good while. But I’ve changed my mind. If you have no objections I’ll send this young man down here to you to take the rest of my lessons for me.” —Pittsburgh Chronicle-Tele-graph.
