The Halton Powell Co. Opened to Crowded House.
The Halton Powell Co. opened a week’s engagement to a packed house last night in “Henpecked Htenry.” It is an extremely funny farce comedy, and the audience enjoyed the performance thoroughly. Mr. Powell, as the henpecked husband, was exceedingly clever, and kept the audience laughing all the time he was on the stage. 4 The Halton Powell Co. differ from all other repertoire companies, inasmuch as they present no melodramas, but entertain with farce comedies, having a repertoire of high-dass plays, none of which have ever been presented here before. If you want to drive away the blues go and see this company. Tonight the company will present “The Morning After,” a play written for laughing purposes only Mr. Powell should play to capacity houses every night during his stay.
