Getting to the Front As a Magazine Artist.
The current Red Book, one of the popular monthly magazines, contains a story by George Vaux Bacon entitled “And the Eagle Screamed,” which is illustrated in a very attractive manner by Norman Borchardt, a nephew of B. F. and Samuel Fendig, of Rensselaer, and quite well known here, where he has frequently sited. Norman has been studying illustrating at the Chicago Art Institute for some time and is becoming one of the excellent magazine illustrators. B[e now lives at Lockport, IIL, where he maintains a studio. His brother, Melvin, who is in business in Chicago, was here during the holidays, and Norman was expected but .it is understood was prevented from com-rag-4>y having secured a hurry-up order for some work that required him to make a trip into Canada. His friends here will be pleased to know that he is getting to the front in so splendid a manner.
