BASKETBALL AT ARMORY TONIGHT
Wheatfleld Athletic Team to Meet Soldiers in Game that Promises To Be a Good One. The militia team is to meet an athletic club from Wheatfleld tonight in the secdnd game of basketball played in Rensselaer this winter. The game will be called at 8:15 o’clock. A good contest is expected. The locals have been denied considerable practice because the armory has been rented so much lately but they are in fine shape physically and their team work has improved a great deal since they were defeated by Whiting. Their success at Lowell has put a lot of spirit into them and they have been “developing -the wallop” as “Keckie” Mull would say to his fcurdue football players in inspiring determination. The next game will take place on the night of Jan. Ist, with Goodland as the opponents. The Wheatfleld Giants arrived by auto this afternoon. They are probably the largest team in the state. Three of them are 6 feet, 2V 2 inches in height, one is 6 feet, P/ 2 inches and the other is 5 feet 10. It looks like the soldiers will have a big job on their hands.
