DROPPED PISTOL; BULLET IN HEEL

Vernon Elijah, of Near Mt. Ayr, in Hospital-Bullet Located and Drainage Established. Dr. J. T. Martin, Of Mt. Ayr, brought a patient to the hospital this Monday morning, in the person of Vernon Elijah, married son, of Charles Elijah, and who is about 22 years of age. He was accompanied here by his parents. Saturday afterpoon .Vernon took a 22 cal-

iber revolver and started from the house with the expectation of shooting a rabbit. He dropped the revolver in the house and it was discharged, the bullet entering the back part of his left heeL He was brought to Rensselaer and the bullet located and drainage established and it is believed that it will heal up without causing serious trouble The bullet lies between two of the larger bones of the foot. In years past it was regarded necesssary to remove all bullets* but this is not frequently done now. Vernon will probably remain in the hospital several days. Ask Hamilton & Kellner for their special proposition on manure spreaders.
