Miss Clara Holmes, instructor in arithmetic in the 6th, 7th and Bth grades and one English class in the high school, has tendered her resignation to the school board in order to accept the position of English teacher in the high school at her home town, Brookville. If a successor can be found before the holiday vacation Miss Holmes will not return, but if a successor has not been secured Miss Holmes will return after the holidays and teach until one is employed. The decision of Miss Holmes to leave Rensselaer will meet unanimous regret among all who have become acquainted with her and her loss will be keenly felt in the schools, where she was regarded one of the best teachers. She is a graduate of DePauw university. During the time she has been in Rensselaer Miss Holmes has made her home Ivith Mayor and Mrs. George F. Meyers.
