GOOD FELLOWS ARE ORGANIZING CLUB
Membership Confined to Unmarried Men and Fee fi>r Joining is From 91 Up. Bp a Good Fellow. In the cities Good Fellow Clubs have been organized just before Christmas for several years. It was decided by Rex Warner, Moses Leopold, Arthur Tuteur and a few other young fellows Sunday that Rensselaer should not be behind the times and they set action to their thoughts, drew up a constitution and pledged their own support and went after others. A Good Fellow is am unmarried man who determines \A make some little boy or girl happy that otherwise might feel pangs ondisappointment at happy Yuletide. The Good Fellows club will work in connection with the local charity organization and put much of the money It procures in the hands of this committee to be spent where they consider it to be the most needed. If it is a pair of shoes, ) a pair of gloves, a warm coat or a ton of coal, the Good Fellows intend that it shall be supplied. The following purpose is set out at the head of the roster of membership: “We. the undersigned, hereby agree to become members of the Good Fellows Association, of Rensselaer, Ind., and further agree to subscribe for the number of shares of capital stock of said Association set opposite our respective names. Said stock being of par value of SI.OO per share. The object of this Association is to bring cheer to the worthy needy poor of the City of Rensselaer, at Christmas. The stock is non-assessable, non-taxable and a guaranteed dividend of 1000 per cent in happiness. The membership is restricted to the unmarried men of the City of Rensselaer and vicinity.” Rex Warner started the ball rolling with a $lO subscription. Moses Leopold followed with $5 and C. A. Tuteur with $2. There are a number of $2 and $1 subscriptions. The bachelors are taking gteat delight in the movement, thus proving that the re*l joy of Christmas is in the knowledge that you are doing something to make some one else happy. A list of all members is to be published later. No one is wanted as a member who does not give with a free heart and in the best of fellowship.
