COLLEGEVILLE.

Jho senior basketball league has been organized under the following managers: H. Daniel, T. Fettlg, R. Murphy, M. Bustetter, F. Shields, R Kreutzer. The teams are all strong and evenly matched, and promise a high grade of basketball for the coming season, confirming the opinion that basketball will yet become the chief game at the college. The Varsity opened a long schedule when the Whiting Owl Club went down in defeat before them by the score of 41 to 23. The* home team was the first to score/ ami the load was never taken from them, nor even endangered. SindeJar played the best game for the collegians, scoring 24 of their points; whereas Moran’s old-time work at guard handicapped the opponents tremendously in getting baskets. K. L. Stockton was the main works for the Owls, but the speed of the college lads was more than the Purdue star of last season could overcome. The boys are now hopeful of keeping a Clean slate, and if the negotiations now pending to have Stockton coacu the team, their fond hopes may realized. There is every reason of anticipating a most successful season even against the heavy college teams that are scheduled for games after the holidays. The line up: St. Joe .
