Elopes With Chauffeur—Thinks Him Rich Man’s Hon.
Chicago, Nov. 22—Mrs. Aimee Givens, formerly of Detroit, divorced wife of Robert S. Givens, a member of Chicago’s fashionable set, has discovered that she * is the central figure in a •strange matrimonial After eloping to Crown Point, Ind:, Wednesday, with a man w.hom she believed to be a son of Marshall M. Kirkman, former vice-president of the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad company, she was told that the man was Mr. Kirkman’s chauffeur. At the marriage, which took place at 2 o’clock in the morning, the bridegroom gave his name as Edward B. Kirkman. No member of the Kirkman family bears that name. Servants in the Kirkman household assert that Edward B. itirkman in reality is William Boehm, Mr. Kirkman’s chauffeur, recently released from service. Detectives are searching for Boehm, who is said to have gone to Danville, 111. '
'Anson Cox will go to Chicago this evening to remain with his family over Sunday. Monday he will go to Hammond to begin work on Dr. Albion Miller’s new flat, of which he will be the superintendent of construction. Alf Peters has sold 100 acres of his home place 5% miles southeast of Rensselaer, hear the Slaughter school house to W. E. Fowler, of Chicago, for $62 per acre. The land is unimproved, but tihe purchaser is intending to at once erect a set of buildings thereon and in the spring his son from Chicago will (move here and occupy the farm.
