Miss Nellie Schmidt, of Alameda, Cal., is so elated at her success in swimming across San Francisco bay that she is now preparing to try for the world’s mile .record. She will try for the mark in the new Olympic club tank in San Francisco. Miss Annette Kellerman’s mark of 32:44 was beaten the other day at Havre des Pas, Island of Jersey, England, by Vera Neave, who covered the distance in the open in 22:414-6.
