Locating Mount Sinai.
When Josephus referred to Mount Sinai, where Moses 1b supposed to have received the Ten commandments, he said it was situated “in Arabia Petraea.” Since then many writers, and scholars have endeavored to give the place a less vague geographical location. The best document to be added to the literature on that subject recently came to the Academy of Science in Berlin, from Dr. Mtrail, of Damascus, whose researches hav(k“developed the fact that the Mount Sinai of old was where now stands the extinct volcano Halai-Bedr, In northern Arabia, in the Hedjaz region.”
