TO RAISE SUBMERGED WRECKS
CJ. PARSONS of Hornsey, England, haß invented an Ingenious caisson for the raising of submerged wrecks. Our photograph was taken at a demonstration recently given at* the East India docks with a model 2 feet 6 inches long, having a lifting capacity of 115 pounds. It was filled with water and towered with a 66 pound weight attached to represent a submerged wreck. Within two minutes the water In the caisson was displaced and the caisson with the weight rose to the surface. By a system of nuts and bolts It can be taken apart and as easily put together again.
