BUrr and daughter, Mrs. Claude Williams, left this morning for Mulberry, where they will attend the celebration of the sixtieth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Israel Smith, which will be held Saturday, Oct. 19th, and to whom they are related. Machall Cover left this morning for his home at Vivian, S. Dak., after a visit “since last Saturday with his relatives in Union township. His sister, Mrs. William Wilcox, accompanied him as far as Lowell on his way home and enjoyed a short visit with her sister, Mrs. Alto Sutton. Rev. H. L. Kindig, pastor of the M. E. chureh, gave his congregation a very interesting account of the recent conference session last Sunday evening. There is a movement on foot to consolidate the North and Northwest Indiana conferences, and Dr. Kindig is a member of the commission to present the matter to the North conference next spring.—Monticello Herald. John Schrank did not poison the bullets with which he intended to shoot Col. Roosevelt. A chemical examination was made of the bullets which were not used and which were found in the revolver of the assassin, but no trace of the poison was found. The examination was made Wednesday by Sommer and Worthington, Milwaukee chemists. Floyd Meyers,' son of Mayor Geo. F. Meyers, who is attending college at Boulder, Colo., this year, writes back that his physical condition is very much improved. He had been having stomach trouble for a long 7 time and while here or at Franklin, <- where he attended school for some time, he found it necessary to con- > tinually diet.
