Mrs. James Braden and daughter, Miss Romaine, of Indianapolis, who have been visiting for the past week with Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Brady, will return to their home the first of this week.
Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Griffin will start for Mesa, Ariz., tomorrow, where they will take up their residence. The trip is made for the benefit of Mrs. Griffin’s health, which has been failing for some time.
J. C. Gwin & Co. have completed the erection of a large coal shed and will handle coal in connection with their lumber business. A set of Fairbanks Standard Scales has been installed and their office enlarged.
Mrs. Rebecca Porter has gone to the springs at Mudlavia, where she will remain until the first of next week, when she will go to Lafayette to attend the state convention of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
The suit filed by Dr. S, H. Moore against the Overland Automobile Co., and its local agent, Dr. J. Hansson, is being heard today by Judge Hanley. Quite a large number of people are in the court room to hear the evidence and a lively contest is evidently on foot.
Harvey Messman and wife, of Barkley township, are enjoying a visit from his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Messman, of Kentland. His sisters, Mrs. Lawrence Kelly and husband and Miss Mary Messman, of Chicago, were also their 1 guests over Sunday.
Officers failed to get the Dyer bhndits who robbed the Keilman elevator company. Sheriff Grant and his deputies followed them to Valparaiso where the bandits went straight through the city at a 50-mile clip. It Is believed they turned north after starting east, retracing their path to deceive the officers.
