First Dance of Season Well Attended Thursday Evening.
With music unexcelled, furnished by the Douglas (colored) orchestra, the first dance of the season, given at thf armory Thursday night, was a tremendous success. , In spite of the warmth of the evening about fifty couples were in attendance, who enjoyed themselves thoroughly. Quite a number of Kentland young folks came overland in automobiles to participate in the “sweatfest” Among the out of town guests were Misses Fern and Hilda Hanaway, of Monticello, and the following people from kentland: Misses Ferol Davis, Ardis Ade, Mary Remsburg, Esther Reed, Nina Spitler and Kathleen Fettig; James Wlnthrow, Kenneth McCain, Paul Cunningham, Ralph Major, Rollin Ade and Stanley Kemp. The next dance of the season was announced for the evening of Thursday, October 17 th.
