Joe Lane weqt to Rensselaer Sunday. Mrs.'Beirley called on Mrs. Mattie Grimes Friday. Joe Wildrix and wife passed through here Sunday. Tommy Michael called on M. D. Grimes Tuesday evening. Jim Lane and family went to Lafayette to see the town Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Grimes went to Rensselaer Saturday. M. D. Grimes went after a load of lumber near Mt. Ayr yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. Grimes called on Jim Lane and family Sunday evening.A dispatch came to Joe and Jim Lane that Mr. Shindler, of near Brook, was dead. Joe and Jim Lane and families went to the funeral of Mr. Shindler Monday at Rensselaer. The Heck Ploutz barn was struck by lightning Monday night and burned down. Two horses and one cow were also burned. 500 bushel of oats and quite a bit of hay was destroyed.
