Why She Didn’t.
The vaudeville Tady who was billed as “La Cadence, the Queen of Song," was murdering melody as she plodded through her turn. At last she swung into a ballad which asserted: “It’s just a small places but it’s ho-o-me. No matter wherever I roo-o-am. To me it is so dear, And I’m happy when I’m near That sweet little spot. I call ho-o-o-ome.” Whereupon a rude person in the gallery inquired: "Is that why you don’t do yer ringin’ dere?"
