ROME.— Workmen have begun the task of clothing in Carrara marble the 76 Corinthian pilasters in the nave of St. Peter’s, and when this is done, the great cathedral will at last be completed. The cost will be at least $600,000, and the public has been ask ed for subscriptions. IZ ___
