The following is an extract: “The’ speakers’ stand had been set up*'in th’ court house yard, and’ decorated with striped buntin’ an’ a picture o’ George 'Washin’ton. Th’ great crowd had gathered an’ ever’thing wuz quiet while th’ ladies o’ th’ human flag that former the background sung ‘Th’ Star-Spangled Banner.’ ”
