No Eloquence Without Truth.
Declamation is not eloquenoe. You never believe a speaker until he first convinces you that he believes himself. “I know” and “we know" and their equivalents occur nearly a hundred times in the epistles. No wonder they’ve lasted nearly 2,000 years. Even when Paul says “I reckon" he means “I know” by the summing up of proof, experience and calculation.
