Revival at Methodist Church.

The meeting last night was an intense one. The sermon was from St John 3rd chapter and 7th verse. “Marvel not that I saith unto thee, ye must be born again.” This text forms a part of the interview between Christ and Nicodemus. It has called forth much study on the part of men. It is a command to alt mankind. Nicodemus was a man of sterling character. It was startling to him when he faced the “must” All men are under sin and qeed the spiritual birth. No one can escape. They must be saved if they are to enter the Kingdom. What is the new birth? What is it to be born again? It is not morality. Nicodemus was moral. A high type of that It is not baptism by water. One can be baptised and not born again or regenerated. It is not makingprofession. Not every one that saith Lord, Lord, shall enter the Kingdom, jit is not belonging to church, for one can be a church member and not regenerated. It is conversion, spiritual change of heart The renewal of toe mind. It is to be a partaker of the divine nature. It introduces into the spiritual world. It bring* blessings and privileges of Heaven, (toe can not save himself. It is the work of God. God alone can give the spirit By grace alone are ye saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves.
