Shober Won From Polos After Wearing the Greek Out.
A fair sized audience saw “Billy” Schober retain the championship title Saturday night, when fie was victorious over the redoubtable Polos. .If took him 55 minutes and 45 seconds to get the first fall and 18ft minutes to secure the second. " Schober weighed in at 156, Polos at 159, butthe Greek looked ten pounds heavier. He has improved wonderfully since his work here last winter, and for a time looked to be the winner, but Sehober’s, cleverness stood him in good stead and he refused to get into a dangerous position at any time. It was a “frasle” from the word go, and probably never wllf an audience here Bee two gladiators so nearly sized and built, work so long and bard to-se-curW a fiH. Finally Schober gained* deadly scissors on the' Greek's neck, and with the aid of the crotch was patted on the back by the referee as the winner of the fall. In tbesecond Schober again managed to secure a scissors on the head, and with a powerful hold on Polos’ toes, won the bout In straight falls. Everybody was well pleased at the work shown as must everyone when the sport was as good as this bout and absolutely on the square. And it will continue to be sa just as long as good sportsmanship prevails and the bouts are staged strictly on that standpoint. ’ • ' .
