Jacob Smith, of Wheatfleld, was arrested by Officer Mustard Saturday •afternoon and lodged in jail' over night. He had created a disturbance in B. J. Gifford’s office, having threatened to cut Mr. Gifford’s throat. He was sobered up Sunday morning and Justice Bruner fined him $1 And costs, amounting to $4.80. He paid it but evidently thought he had not had his money’s worth for he got drunk again Sunday, but this time he escaped arrest v > I. F. Meador ’sold another mare last week. Jud Maines was the purchaser and the price paid was $250 Cash. The mare was five years old and not in foal. Mr. Meader has been selling soifie high class animafs this year and is satisfied that it pays to raise the best stock. -
