Wife in Name Only.
The performance of “Faust” offered here last week by the Gordon company was a most excellent one and held a large audience intensely interested through its seven scenes. The scenery was of a high grade and the light effects were especially fine. The characters in the play were very cleverly rendered by Mr. Gordon’s organization, who deserve credit for their handling of such a difficult drama. The play announced for Saturday night of this week is “Wife in Name Only,” a comedy drama in four acts. This piece is a re-written version of the famous English society play “The Unforseen,” which played in New York for over a year in one theatre. The drama is one which presents exceptional opportunities for fine acting and has no less than five comedy characters who keep the audience in a good humor from curtain to curtain. As a special inducement to the lady patrons of Mr. Gordon’s attraction a souvenir silver tea spoon will be given to all ladies who attend this performance. Prices will remain the same: 25, ,35 and 50 cents. Tickets are on sale at Jessen’S.
