Fine Farm Mare Broke Leg On Highway, South of Town,

John Gray, who has been living in Jordan township, started to move to a farm near Valparaiso, this Thursday morning. He was driving through, having several rigs, and had arrived at the Luers farfh, south of Rensselaer when one of the horses which had shied a little at an automobile being driven by Sheriff Hoover, slipped and broke one of its legs. It is understood that no blame whatever attaches to Sheriff Hoover, who brought his machine to a standstill when he saw the horse was frightened. The animal was a good draft mare valued at about 1200. It will probably be killed. Mr. Gray procured another horse and proceeded on his journey.
