Hazel Drake has been visiting relatives in Monon. Joshua Ross went to Francesville Wednesday on business. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Armstrong, of Barkley, helped. Geo. . Parker. butcher. Monday. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Bussell went to Lafayette Wednesday for a short visit with Mrs. Bussell’s brother, William Long, who will move to Dexter, Mo., in a short time. There will be a box social at the Osborne school house Saturday night benefit of the school. The teacher has arranged a very attractive program, which will be rendered before the boxes are sold. Mr. and Mrs. August Tigler went to Lafayette Wednesday evening, Where the latter will undergo an operation. Mrs. Tigler has been poorly for some time and was advised an operation in order to affect a permanent cure. Geo. Bond’s have moved onto the E. J. Randle farm near Pleasant Grove and W. C. Ross will occupy the Bond farm. His sister, of Cissua Park, 111., has purchased the farm just recently. Chas. Hague will operate Mr. Ross’ farm the coming season. The revival meetings' began at Mccoysburg a week ago Monday evening and have continued every night since, except Saturday night. They will probably close Friday night. Rev. Kuonen has delivered an excellent course of sermons. Saturday night he will give an illustrated lecture on Switzerland, his native home, at the Barkley church. An admisson of 15 and 25 cents will be charged. The work of invoicing Reed McCoy’s stock of goods began Monday morning and was completed Wednesday. The stock and fixtures invoiced $2,253, after the stock had been run down considerably for three months. Lowman Bros, began at once to rearrange both, stocks of goods, and will have all dry goods, groceries, post office, express and railroad, business at the former McCoy store and Will devote the other store'almost entirely to hardware, etc. Mr. McCoy has not settled on a new location yet, for sure, but in all probability will find a business of some sort in Fairmount; liid. This was formerly the home of Mr. and Mrs. McCoy before coming here seventeen years ago. He has enjoyed a good prosperous business. Mr. and Mrs. McCoy’s many friends will regret to see them leave'.
