' ' V' ~~ Five Lest Lives When Auto Broke Through Ice in River. Five persons were drowned Saturday when a large touring automobile skidded on the river road near Brookville, N. J., and went over embankment crashing through the ice into the waterpower reservoir. Fred Foster, who owned the machine; Donald Reed, son of a former supreme court justice; Chester Van Cleet and three young ladies were in the auto. ' Foster escaped but all the others' were drowned. Foster managed to scramble out of the water and made his way to a house, more than a mile distant. MBs clothing was frozen to him and his condition is serious. The three young women were Margaret TindalL Helen Mulvey and Sarah Heuer, the Jattelr from Baltimore.
