To banish ants, ent thin strips of cucumber rind and put about where they abound; will invariably drive them away. Tin pails, basins and waiters that show tiny spots of wear that inevitable lead to rust should be given a coating of enamel paint, which adds to their endurance and appearance. A teaspoonful of%arm honey taken every 20 minutes has a surprising effect on catarrh. Honey shonld always be kept handy, as It Is invaluable in cases of illness caused by catching cold. To clean real lace place the lace between folds of tissue paper, well sprinkled with calcined magnesia, and put it between the leaves es a book under a weight, for two or tbre days. Shake out the powder and the lace will be found quite clean. Putting on children’s overshoes is always troublesome unless the rubbers are so loose that they are really uncomfortable. Have a shoe horn convenient and you win be surprised at the ease with which they go on, and there will be a saving of both time and patience. t • - -J ■■■ .i-rs-
